That is an indication that my Workaround WORKS. What matters the most to me is getting Steam Overlay to show a Notification when the game bootups. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to FORCEFULLY turn off Origin In-Game (unless you love EA Connecting to Server message), there is nothing that I can do. So I'm trying to figure out a way to help solve this issue so future costumers don't have to go through hell to play their purchased games. On Steam, the Origin Overlay is forced and there isn't a way to disable it no matter what you do, at least not a way without touching the game's files.Īnd even if you can workaround it, paying costumers shouldn't do such things to make their game work as expected. ![]() It opens the Desktop config which defeats using it via Steam.įor now, if you're still having issues, I suggest Turn off Origin In-Game on both Origin Application and Game Properties (for your case, Burnout Paradise Remastered ) and the Steam Overlay notification SHOULD pop-up. ![]() Originally posted by AL2009man:it will open Steam Desktop Overlay regardless of your Big Picture Mode settings if you launch it from Steam Desktop or Origin. This might suggest there are 2 (?) Origin Overlays working at the same time? I also tried the "ME: Andromeda" workaround which is restarting Steam before launching the game.Īs an additional note, when I got an Origin Achievement (specifically, the 2nd I got, 1st one was fine) it appeared duplicate (!). This how I "debugged" it: I tried Forcing Steam Input Fullscreen, Windowed, Borderless Disabling the Origin Overlay (even on my Origin copy, just in case, which is useless anyways because Origin Overlay is forced) even doing some clicking trickery to force focus the game window right after the game loads. Steam Overlay hooks and Steam Controller works as it does with all other games.įirst of all, it's important to note that adding Burnout Paradise Remastered via a Non-Steam Game shortcut works fine. Steam Overlay doesn't hook and Steam Controller doesn't work as it should, when launched from desktop.
